Job Description – Licensed Veterinary Technician

Spring Farm CARES has an on-site small veterinary clinic. The primary purpose of this clinic is to serve the needs of our resident cat population (about 150 cats) and surrounding feral cat colonies. The clinic consists of a treatment/lab area, surgery room, and dental room. Surgeries would consist of primarily spay/neuter and dentals.

Job Duties and required skills would include the following:

• Must have 3-5 years experience. Experience with cats required.

• Anesthesia experience (induction, monitoring, recovery) for spay/neuter and dentals, and proficiency at doing dental cleanings – required

• Other responsibilities include cleaning/sterilizing surgical instruments, do routine lab work (fecal, urinalysis, blood smears, ear cytology, etc.), restraint, phlebotomy, injections, and using and maintaining blood analyzers and autoclave.

• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisors a must.

Job Hours: Part-time (ideally 2-3 days a week)

Pay range: $20 – $25 per hour based on experience and skills
