From Gilligan – “I am a lucky goat. My friend Max and I have seen some really bad things. In the place we came from, we watched a lot of our friends that did not survive. I am not just grateful to be alive, but my heart still goes out to the ones who never found what Max and I were lucky to find. When you go through hard times, it is always easier with the help of a friend. We animals have friendships too. And we don’t take them lightly. We lean into them because we often don’t have them for long. To be in a place now where I can know that my friends are all staying here with me and we are safe. And there is nothing in this world that beats feeling and knowing that. That is what I am most grateful for.”
