Starfish was born in May 2026 and arrived at the farm with her brother Barnacle in August 2026. They were surrendered to a humane society with whom we partner with several other kittens. But Starfish and Barnacle had some hind end deficiencies that caused them not to be able to use their litter box and made them highly unlikely to be adopted. So the shelter reached out to us to see if we could give them home in the sanctuary. Thanks to our supporters, we were able to say yes.
Starfish is a very feisty and playful young lady. Although she does not have normal movement in her back end, she sure gets along just fine and pounces and tackles with her brother like any other kitten her age. She does seem to have some problems with bladder function as does her brother. While we do not know the cause of this at this time or whether they will heal or outgrow this condition, we know that she is a happy little girl living her best life here in the sanctuary.
We will support the two of them in whatever way they need on their journey.
