Oreo was born in 2008 and came to the farm in March 2025. Sadly, Oreo’s owner, who was in her 90’s, passed away and left Oreo without anyplace to go. Oreo spent her entire life with that one human and was the sole survivor of a family of cats that all lived out their lives together. There were not any family members who could take Oreo in and they were taking care of her in the empty house until a solution could be found. Oreo had become quite obese, had a very bad urinary tract infection, and has diabetes that has been unregulated. We have treated the infection and are currently trying to regulate her diabetes. Oreo did not do well in our cat rooms so we have set up a pen for her in our big hall where she shares a very large space with three other cats and a small dog. We have a ramp that goes up to a sofa and Oreo just adores going up that ramp and having a good sofa snuggle time. She even will share the sofa with Chichi, the little dog. Being in the hall gives her a lot more people interaction and space to get some exercise. She loves her people time and likes to show off her purr.
